Grown in the rugged hills of Rwanda’s Gakenke District, this natural processed lot comes from Nkara washing station, part of the Dukunde Kawa cooperative, where smallholder farmers cultivate Bourbon varieties at elevations reaching 2,100 metres. Rich volcanic soils, high altitude, and slow cherry maturation create the clarity and sweetness that have made Rwandan coffees increasingly celebrated in specialty coffee.

Naturals are still relatively rare in Rwanda, requiring meticulous drying and sorting to maintain cleanliness and balance. At Nkara, carefully selected cherries are dried slowly on raised African beds for several weeks, building a cup that is vibrant, fruit-forward, and deeply expressive while retaining the elegance and structure Rwanda is known for.
