Kamwangi

A classic, juicy, fruit-forward lot from the famous Kirinyaga highlands

Notes: Black Cherry, Yuzu & Toffee
Origin: Kenya
Varietal: Batian, Ruiru 11 & SL28
Process: Washed

Grown in Kenya’s central highlands in Kirinyaga county, this coffee comes from the Kamwangi washing station, part of the New Ngariama Farmers Cooperative Society, where smallholder farmers cultivate at elevations up to 2,000 masl. Cool nights and rich volcanic soils produce dense cherries with natural sweetness and clarity.

Fully washed and sun-dried, this AB lot (combining the largest (A) and second-largest (B) beans for consistent size and quality) exemplifies the classic Kenyan profile: big, bold, and juicy, with vibrant acidity and a clean, lively cup. Its bright, energetic character makes it a staple of the specialty coffee world, a perfect introduction to the beauty of washed Kenyan coffee.

Believers in good coffee

We source coffees that stand out - expressive, seasonal, and full of character. Every cup is an invitation to slow down and taste something genuine, shaped by the land it came from and the hands that brought it here.

Like the rhythm of the harbour, our approach is unhurried and grounded - coffee that feels alive, balanced, and quietly extraordinary.
